Video sender or something else?

Is there a gadget that I can plug into an aerial socket in one room in order to broadcast the aerial signal to another room? At the moment I have a major coaxial trip hazard trailing through the house and wondered if there was a wireless solution. Is a video sender what I need? I'm not looking to broadcast dvds or freeview, just the basic aerial signal.

You would normally need an AV source for the Video Senders currently on the market, such as the SCART output of a VCR, DVD or a set top box.

As cledor says, and in my experience, they take a scart input.

I use one to send a signal froma freeview box from one side of a room to the other to avoid cabling.
I did try it out of curiosity from one troom to the other and it was pretty poor, but it was a cheapie.

Depends on your walls and other obstacles, most can send a signal to an upstairs set and incorporate remote control capability.
  • The problem is though that I want to send to a usb dtv dongle thingy on a pc so no scart or av input, just an aerial adaptor.
I could send a signal from a freeview box but is there anything that could plug into an aerial socket to receive it?

Yes many senders have an aerial output on the receiving unit. You'll only need AV inputs at the sending end.

Edit The Aerial output from the video sender is suitable for connection to an analogue (old fashioned) tv tuner, make sure your tuner can receive that type of signal.
