M&S credit card

I applied for an M&S credit card earlier today, and have received an emailing confirming that I have been accepted. The thing is, the email doesn't look right, it's from a random email address @hsbc.co.in, there's no branding on it at all.

Has anyone else applied online and got a dodgy looking email? It doesn't ask me to do anything, just wait for my documents by post.

TIA

I think m&s are backed by HSBC. I was looking at their current account and cards the other day and I remember reading HSBC in small print. They would never ask for personal info that way, so I'm sure it's an auto response.

Just looked at the email OH received when he was accepted for this card (last summer) and it is as you describe with no branding and same email address.

From what I recall, the agreement arrived about 5 days later followed by the card and pin just over a week after returning the agreement.

  • Thanks for your swift replies, put my mind at rest now!
  • Yes, my application came too from an Someone'sName @hsbc.co.in, saying that I was accepted,.

For me it took around three weeks from the e-mail to being fully up and running.
Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!
