Kitchen Work

Am looking at having kitchen gutted and new one fitted, tiling splashbacks, floors etc...
Got quote from Howdens for Glendevon Cream about 16 units but 5 of these are full height and including full height pull out larder for about £4k. Standard laminate work tops. I've looked around and this seems reasonable.
No appliances as I have sourced all appliances myself so happy with this side.
With regards to fitting I require quite a lot done in the kitchen.
My builder firstly provided a quote for some building work which is bricking up patio door. Supply and fit two new UPVC windows (brown outside / white inside) one to go where the bricked up wall will be as new and the other to replace existing window. Ceiling to be pulled down and new one put up (there will be LED downlights but doing electrics with seperate sparky as having re-wire, therefore no prices mentioned will include electrics as that being done seperate). Price for this was around £1300 which I think is very good.
The remaining fitting / building price is £4,100 this includes removing existing kitchen and disposal, removing wall tiles, stripping walls, skimming walls and new ceiling, swapping radiator for new vertical one, fitting kitchen units, fitting worktops, removing laminate floor, over boarding floor boards to take tiles, tiling the floor, swapping existing archway to door so putting in frame, supply and hang door etc, new plumbing waste pipe etc..., plumbing american fridge freezer (this is being boxed in), tiling walls all way around to same height as wall units so into to window cills and full height tiling over hob (oversized 77cm one). Couple of cabinets need modifying to go around things.
Room size is angled 5m length one side, 4m length other and about 2.9m wide walls will either be units or worktop.
Does everyone think for the work outlined a total labour and materials excluding kitchen units, appliances and tiles of £5,400 is reasonable (as mentioned electrics aren't included).
Thanks

Sorry forgot to add this is in the North West...0

I think this might be a bit steep to be honest. Considering the amount of work involved and how long it will take to do it, I think you are being taken for a ride. I recently had the full works in my kitchen and in comparison I now realise I got a great deal! Shop around!0

It seems too much. get 2/3 more quotes and compare.0 -
I have tried getting other quotes but difficult getting independant fitters around to quote at short notice. Two Kitchen shops (not the big sheds) were coming in around £13k for everything (excluding appliances) so £9.3k for everything doesn't sound too much considering.
So does £5.4k for labour and windows etc for the following sound about right?
1) Ripping down ceiling and re-boarding, disposing of old one,
2) Bricking up double width patio doors half way and dry-lining,
3) Supplying and fitting two new UPVC windows about 1.5 m wide
4) Changing archway to door and supplying door and frame etc...
5) Capping off gas and removing all old plumbing that isn't needed.
6) Putting in new plumbing (waste and water supplies) in lieu of existing as 40-50 years old.
7) Swapping a radiator to a towel rail / vertical rad.
8) Removing laminate and repairing any floor boards that are damaged
9) Overboarding to take tiles.
10) Ripping out old kitchen and disposing.
11) Stripping all walls (part tiles / part paper) and skimming (+ skimming new ceiling)
12) Fitting Kitchen about 16 units including 5 full height (with two that need modifying to go around pillar.
13) Plumbing in American fridge freezer (this is being built in as part of kitchen also)
14) Tiling the floor (I am supplying tiles)
15) Tiling the splash-backs (to wall units and into sills) (I am supplying the tiles)
If anybody would reply I would be very grateful as the builder is coming round tonight to finalize and go ahead.
