wooden flooring and underfloor heating

Options
Looking to replace our laminate flooring and carpet floors in hallway / living room / dining room. am interested in getting underfloor heating in dining room and hallway.

I am not sure if my boiler will cope (Greenstar 18Ri in 3 bed semi) will cope with new underfloor heating. so am possibly looking at electric heating, though havent ruled out hot water heating.

We are looking at engineered wood around 15/16 mm think.

anyone has engineered wood flooring and underfloor heating. i am interested in the experience, any problems.

how can i estimate cost of underfloor heating if its electric?

We have underfloor heating (new build) with 22mm engineered floor. This is slightly thicker than recommended but but works fine for us.

Unless you are doing a major renovation I think it will be very expensive to retrofit wet. So cost that carefully. Concentrating on how they are going to deal with the sub floor to get the pipe work in.

I have a friend who has electric UFH in a large part of their house and it is very expensive to run. I don't really think it is a great idea except perhaps for bathrooms and the like.

You would be better spending money on insulation.
