Parking Charge Notice Advice Needed!

I recently attended a wedding at a very posh hotel in London. I always dread the London weddings since I know parking will be an issue.Anyway I was told by the uncle of the bride that they had paid for extra parking so I thought "that's fantastic". As a reassurance I asked a member of staff in the lobby if I could park there and they said it was fine and carry on with their task. I have to mention it was insanely busy in the hotel with an overflow of guests that evening.

A day a so ago I got a parking charge notice from a company called Parking Eye saying I owe them £100 which could be reduced down £60 if I were to pay within 14 days. So after being told it was fine to park at the hotel I still get fined! :( I was so annoyed.

I called the hotel they told me to told between 9am-5pm, which I did the next day and I end up speaking to the most rudest man on the front desk that told me it was my fault for not validating the ticket and I would have to pay the charge. I was disgusted by his rudest and said could I speak to someone else and he put me through the events team. Thankfully the women in the events team was much more helpful and apologised for the way I was treated because I was actually very upset by this point. After speak to her for about 15minutes she told be to send a scan of the notice and they can see what they can do.

However, as it's being dealt with an outside parking company I worry that they won't be able to do anything or that they won't WANT to do anything about it. I definitely don't trust the hotel especially if they employ such rude people at the front desk!

Also side note: Whilst at the wedding they had those huge candles and one of the caught fire on the scarf I was wearing. Thankfully there was a guy at the wedding who took my scarf and stamped on it to put it out immediately. However if I wasn't wear longsleeves, my arm would of most certainly be burnt. An hour early my aunt's hair caught fire due to the same type of candle! All in all is was not a great wedding on my part...just keep weddings simple, saves people hassle.

If anyone has any tips in this situation that would be amazing!

The best tip is to look at, then post in the Parking Tickets Forum, where you will find any amount of up to date info on seeing-off these scammers.

Ignoring PE is no longer a viable option as they are getting a bit litigious these days - although with a decent challenge to POPLA, you should be able to get this dealt with positively. :)

Also, you would be well advised to remove the location from your post because Parking Eye do monitor this forum and try to identify and wheedle info out of posters to use against them
