Can you complain about how a claim has been handled?

Hi, I seem to be getting nowhere regarding why my dad's PC claim is taking so long. They put in an email to chase it up and said give it 10 working days, that's up now, it's 6 weeks from the original claim. I telephoned again and they said they will put in another email request. My parents can't keep going on like this and I'd like to complain and see if I can speak to someone more senior, is it possible? thanks

  • have you ask why there is a delay?although i suspect that 6 weeks isnt that long for a new claim

6 weeks isnt unusual for the claim to be finalised but you'd normally hear something before then... ask to speak to a team leader next time you call?

Bare in mind they won't speak to you or ring you back unless you hold power of attorney or you've been appointed to act on your Dad's behalf
  • Maybe they're busy - we applied around the 6th of may - and it took till the 9th of august to sort it out.

You 'chased up ' after 4 weeks, and now its 6 weeks. Neither of which are a particularly long time.
