Cpp and card care the same?

My husband took a Halifax credit card out approx 2003 and they pressured him into taking out what they called card care. Is this the same as cpp?
It covers all cards with one phone call apparently. He asked in branch about cancelling and was told ' better to keep it, it's worth it'. It's £23 per year approx. not sure if it was one of the miss sold card products or not.

While they may have offered the product they would have put no sales pressure in to selling it. They weren't incentivised on it.

CPP is / was one of the companies that offer the product. Halifax have used Sentinal and their own St Andrews company most of the time. They did briefly use CPP, but I can't recall the dates.

Telephone sales techniques, especially those involving identity protection, are at the centre of the CPP issue.

So while you can ask the question it's by no way a certainty that you'll succeed. Does his credit card show the charge (and company name) once a year? That should at least tell him if it's the relevant company.

I've received a letter from CPP today. They list the policy brand names as being:

    Card Protection
    CardGuard (offered by HSBC)
    Card Safe (M&S Bank)
    Barclaycard Card Protection
    Barclays Cardholder Protection
    NatWest Card Protection
    Card Protection Plus
    Commercial Card Protection and
    Egg Emergency Cover
