Did the OP say they DNQ in between March and April? Looks like they received HB then.

The only time i have claimed housing/unemployment benefit in the last 52 weeks was between 13 march - 5 apr, that isnt 13 weeks yet apparently i will not get the full amount. Also the discretionary payment will not cover the shortfall so will still have to pay some out of my unemployment benefit

Appears to indicate claimed in the previous 52 weeks. Although need clarification from O/P.
These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.

I think the OP is a little confused.

If you have claimed any HB during the previous 52 weeks period then you would not be entitled to the full rent (for 13 weeks only) with this new claim. You would only be entitled to the local housing allowance for your circumstances plus any Discretionary Housing payment awarded.

Did you claim HB for that period - if so you have claimed HB in the previous 52 weeks and won't qualify for the 13 weeks protection.

Not suggesting they didn't receive HB but just wanted to clarify its not of they claim it but they have to receive it.

I'm sure they were paid but just didn't want people to think a claim made but not paid, would rule them out!
