Leaving a neg feedback

Although I have left negs before...ususally for non paying bidders, this time I really don't know what to do.
I won a bed, which was within a reasonable distance for me to travel and collect. I need a bed that was raised off the floor and beech. I won one, and on the listing it stated please contact before making payment to arrange collection and type of payment. Normally I pay instantly with Pay pal but this time because of what was on the listing I emailed the seller as soon as I won. I heard nothing. On the listing was also a phone number of which I rang 3 times every day, left messages for about 4 days. On thier home line there was also a mobile contact number of which yet again I rang a few times over a 4 day period. I needed the bed with 8 days of wining the auction as I had guests staying over.
On the 4th day a lady answered the mobile and as soon as I said Hi I am the winning bidder of the bed she said " Oh Ebay" and put the phone down. Later that day my phone rang and the seller (guy) said "the bed's gone, I got rid of it Thursday...which was the day the listing ended (evening), there are loads of other beds on ebay, so I'm sure you can buy another one  when I explained that I needed a single bed urgent he said well I do have another but its a divan, which obviously was not what I wanted. I said I was upset and during the 4 day period I had lost out on another bed, as I had won theirs, and that I had rang many times, for none of my messages to be returned. I also emailed them through Ebay as well.
I have logged a dispute with Ebay and they say they have acted on this, what they have done I have no idea, maybe knowing them a tickle on the wrist!!!
My problem is I really want to leave a NEG feedback but can see from his previous problems he will do the same to me..which is unfair as I never broke my part of the deal.
What do I do, bite the bullet and give a neg despite the fact I have 100% feedback and over 1000 scores.

Best I can suggest is for you to bite the bullet. Obviously it's up to you, but if he leaves you a neg back, just leave a follow-up under it explaining what happened.
You have a high score so I doubt people will be that worried.
Why not consider opening a separate buying account to avoid situations like this?My TV is broken!

Thank you for you reply.
I have thought about using 2 different accounts, but up till now, not sorted it.
It just feels so unfair that they can also leave a neg for me, this is where the feedback system fails, as I really shouldn't be in a situation where by I dare not leave a neg feedback for the fear of receiving one.
I wouldn't dare do a thing like that, but he seemed so unnerved by it. I suppose not everybody holds the same values. It takes all sorts to make a world as Mum says.0 -
Name and shame the seller on here!!!0

 Just leave him the neg he deserves and stop crying about your 100% being damaged       .
Why do you people have nothing better to do with your time than worry about your pristine 100% feedback? NO-ONE CARES whether it's 100, 99.9, 98, 97 or even 96% as long as it's relative.
SC :mad:0 -
I suppose it is because I feel i have done so well for so long having it 100%.
Stupid I aggree, and maybe I should just accept that one day it is bound to happen.
jewel-co by the way.
I could have understood if he had been new to Ebay, but he isn't.0 -

WRONG!!!!!
there is a huge difference between 100% and not being 100% as far as buyers go. I run an internet based business, and sell quite a lot through ebay. Experts recon that having a high 100% feedback can increase sales by up to 30%.0 -
It's a pride thing as well.
To me is says I am honest, reliable and trustworthy, and folk can bid with confidence, or sell to me with confidence as well. Am I wrong?0 -
I agree with above, ppl DO care if they have 100% or 96%, I personally wouldn't buy from someone with 96% if I could get the same item from someone with 100% even if it cost me a little more. I don't have time to go through and read the negatives, i go by the score, so yes, it does matter (not often i disagree with you SC, but I do here!)0

Very true. We just reached 1000, 100% positive today. It's a huge milestone :j0 -
If I was bidding, I'd check your feedback. At the top it would show 1 neg. I'd go looking for that neg, see your answer to it, and not worry.
Percentages mean sod all to me, it's all about the comment, and any follow-up left.My TV is broken!
