know how cover on a washing machine

I've had my washing machine since 2005 and had various things fixed on it all through my know how insurance that I took out on it through Currys
the engineer has been today and said there is quite a lot wrong with it so they may write it off , if this happens do I get anything back from knowhow or is it just a case of buying a new one ??

They give you vouchers for a new washer so unless you want to pay the difference to a better one it shouldn't cost you anything

Even if it's old and worn out, yes

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

That's why you pay for cover, if it's going to cost them too much or takes too long to get parts or not available anymore you will get vouchers to pop into a store and get a equivalent machine, you can put more towards it if you want, or if the voucher amount is too little to get a similar specification they will override it to make up the difference.

But yea, what would be the point paying for cover just to be told "It's too old, you're not getting a penny from us for it" :P

I do vaguely remember they messed up once and were accidently going to write the machine off and they sent us a cheque or vouchers for £100 but that wouldn't buy us a new washing machine would it ?? I'll just have to wait and see what they say - be nice to get a new washing machine though :)

Hopefully it is one of the better warranties which replaces the machine if it breaks and not just gives you the money paid less X% per year.

No as has already been said they give you the value to buy equal spec, you can choose to pay more for a better one or if the amount they give you isn't enough to match the spec they can increase the amount. If no machine with equal spec exists it goes to the closest match.

It may be worth you reading your policy paperwork if you're concerned at all.
