Nexus Google 7 - How to use links?

I have just become the proud (hopefully!) owner of a new generation Nexus 7, never having owned such a thing before.
I was amazed that the "instructions" comprise a square of paper about 3" by 3" which shows you how to turn it on and how to charge the battery (and even then uses an abbreviation with no explanation!). To be fair it does give you a link to their help and support website but I'm sure there are loads of links to other "How to use" sites. I wonder if anyone has found a really good one where I can swot up on the basics, please? I'm sure my grandson will do all this instinctively but when you are 70+ you need a little guidance!
Thank you.
