Reliable Laptop Battery & Supplier

I've searched the web and just ordered a Dell Studio 1749 battery for £60 inc P&P from the battery company which is half the price of one from Dell.
I could have bought one for £25 but it would seem you get what you pay for, so be warned.
Recommend you read the article ''Cheap Laptop Batteries: Good Deal or Risky?'' found at pc world
There are a lot of dodgy companies/websites out there claiming to be UK based and looking very legitimate at face value - try ringing their telephone numbers and if you can't get through don't use them - other recommended advice is to put their name into Google and see if any reviews come up.
Also try searching them on a website like trustpilot
Hope this helps

There's a bit of a safety issue with lappy batts, for example they are supposed to have over-current and over-temperature fuses built inside them in a control board. But there is no surefire way of guaranteeing the provenance of cheap ones.
