online is likely to be call-centre-style operation. Jobs done by clerks on a tick-box basis overseen by a licenced conveyancer, with jobs piled up and dealt with in rotation.

Visit severallocal solicitors firms. Meet the solicitor who'll be handling you. Discuss you requirents and see if you feel confident they'll treat your case how you want. Get quotes and make a choice.

If you are in Leicester I can recommend Tracey Bailiss. She is a licenced conveyancer not a solicitor so it's her only case load. She works inside Geoffrey Hill and co in Hinckley. A good conveyancer/solicitor is worth their weight in gold. I wouldn't touch an online one with a barge pole!
I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."
Mortgage is my only debt - Original mortgage - January 2008 = £88,400, March 2014 = £47,000 Chipping away slowly! Now saving to move.
  • Bluemeanie....thanks very much, I will email her for a quote

Not worth making idle threats. As you won't treated as a serious buyer. 48 hours is nothing when buying property.
