Claiming store card PPI's

any advice please. A couple of years ago I contacted some of my store card providers, one namely was Debenhams to claim my PPI back. I had previously contacted many times to say that I had not wanted this service. They sent me a copy of my original paperwork when I opened the account,15 yrs ago, showing that there was a tick in the insurance box and they would not be dealing with this claim anymore. My gran, my dad and then my brother died in the last couple of years, so only now do I feel I have the strength to fight this.....does anyone believe I still have a case? I don't remember ticking the paperwork with the sales assistant at the time.

You don't have a case, you only have one bite at the cherry, you have tried and they have rejected your claim. You had 8 weeks to appeal and obviously didn't.

Whether you remember ticking the box, the box is ticked saying that you did request it. And signed for it.

    Game over I;m afraid.

Unfortunately, you cannot refer your case to FOS after a number of years, it has to be done within six months of the original rejection. FOS will only consider your complaint in very exceptional circumstances. You can write to the Ombudsman and plead your case, but it doesn't seem very hopeful.

You appear to have confused the timescale FOS allow for the Bank to initially respond to complaints.
FOS referrals must be done within six months, not eight weeks..

If you have a rejection letter from them, you can complain to the underwriter because debenhams won't have been regulated then anyway, so you can't use the FOS.

The underwriter has accepted liability in some cases, so you can try but don't hold your breath.
