Everyone outside London is envoius of Freedom passes which give much more generous free travel than anywhere else in England. But if you are outside London your pass just covers local buses. It doesn't matter whether you live 1 mile outside the boundary or 200.
I am delighted to have free bus travel that I can use anywhere in England - I think your friend should be grateful for this and pay for the tube or trains like most of us have to!0 -
It is hard to work out why the taxpayer in London Boroughs should foot the bill for those living in Herts or Bucks to travel.
The Metropolitan line used to go up to Quainton and beyond in the C19th. Perhaps they should get free travel also.0 -
The relevant passes are based on where you live not what the local transport links are.
I know people who live close to rail stations with no bus links for miles, that's just tough, they don't get to use the railway for free and the same applies in the case of tube stations.0
