Rejected by Santander 123

Hey

Recently I applied for a Santander 123 current account and a 123 credit card. I was successful for the 123 current account, but not so for the 123 credit card

They have sent me a letter saying I could appeal the decision for the credit card, but just wondering what sort of information to put down and if theres some sort of template that I can use somewhere?

Thanks

You need to tell them something they don't already know from the application form and their search of credit reference agency files.

    This might be...

evidence of savings and investment account balances
2nd property ownership (un-mortgaged, since mortgages appear on credit files)
secondary income streams, 2nd job, investment income, BTL income
    etc
    etc

Do banks take savings into consideration then?

They can take whatever they like into account, but they can't see savings on credit reports unless the savings are held with themselves

Got my first credit card of £5000 limit with nationwide 4 months after depositing the same amount into an ISA. This was as a student too. I don't really know what that means but it helped me to get approved for many more cards in the next few years much earlier than otherwise would have happened.

Whether you show them your savings or the colour of your pants it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference.
