Lloyds TSB demerger

As much a rant as a request for advice, having been send on various wild goose chases by LloydsTSB staff, I finally find that some of my accounts are going to TSB and some are staying and the only way to stay with Lloyds is to close my Lloyds account and reopen it in another branch with all the trouble which that involved. We in south west wales are been blessed with in effect 4 towns with TSB branches - (I don't fancy having to do a 90 mile round trip to Cardiff to go to the bank so haven't counted!)

If I'm going to have to go to all that trouble, I may as well change to a new bank.

Has anyone got any advice on making a change of banks as painless as possible? or seen any good offers from banks if you move to them?

Nationwide - 5% interest on up to £2500 for the first year

Halifax - £100 bonus for switching, plus £5 for every month that you pay in £750

Santander - 3% interest on up to £20k, plus cashback on bills paid by direct debit

First Direct - £125 bonus for switching, but nothing on an ongoing basis
