compensation from n power
Hello
We moved house a year ago and entered into a dual fuel contract with n power. A month in i noticed no direct debit was being taken for the gas. Month after month i phoned with a meter reading until in December it was finally escalated as a complaint. It is only now being sorted so we Will bring faced with a years gas bill....the reason for the problem was a technical one. Fortunately we started to put money aside but have no idea of the bill that faces us. The consumer focus group say we Will be entitled to s good Will gesture ..does anyone know hoe much is appropriate? Compensation seems to be so common now. It has all been a bit of a nightmare!

Why do you have no idea what the bill will be? Was the meter broken? You said you telephoned in readings - you did not spend the extra five seconds when taking the reading to work out approx how much that cost?
I doubt a goodwill gesture of more than £20 will be granted or ought to be expected. At most.
Of course, if they have taken more than twelve months to bill you under the back-billing rules the the bill has to be capped at the most recent twelve months.0 -

Take your initial readings and your current readings and enter your consumption figures into a comparison site, such as ukpower , as the annual figures and then enter your tariff and it will give you a reasonably accurate idea of your bill.
I agree with the previous poster, the most you will/should get will be about £20 goodwill gesture.0 -
Hmmm - No D/Debit for taken by n'power for 12 months gas ?
Most n'power tariffs include an Annual cash-back credit that is dependant on 12 consecutive monthly D/Debit payments being made in the previous year - Contact n'power and ask what they intend to do about this0
