for the people who have travelled a long way, will there be anywhere where they can get lunch? easier if staying in a town the night before rather than a hotel miles from anywhere.
Of course a later wedding means you can drive down that day and get a lunch at service station on the way.
As long as there is a substantial buffet around 6ish rather than 10ish, that sounds fine. Any later than that and people may be a bit flagging or just get drunk quickly.0 -
We had:
3 Service
4 Welcome drinks
4:45 Canap!s
6 Speeches (pause canap!s)
6:30 Canap!s resume, main food starts
7:30 Cake cutting (food stop)
8 Food resume
9 Pudding / cake
10 Food stops
12 Bacon butties.
Was that really over 5 hours of eating...no wonder everyone was so full at the end...

We get married at 4, back to the hotel for an afternoon tea with the family, then at 8pm then evening guests arrive and we are having a party with a cold buffet.0
