Hello.
Sorry if this isn't in the right place but I'd certainly love some advice on the below please...
What did you buy?
Engagement & Wedding Ring (perfect fit)
When did you buy it?
10th August 2013
Where from?
H Samuel (in store)
How did you pay? (cash/cheque/debit card/credit card etc)
Half Cash and Half on Credit Agreement (not sure of the company its through as not at home to check paperwork)
What went wrong?
I've noticed the item is now £250 cheaper
What are the vendors telling you?
I've called the shop quickly today but due a bad phone their end couldn't make out much. They've told me I can return the rings to the shop and get a refund under their 30 day cooling off period but I'm sure they're over looking the fact that the credit agreement only has a 14 day cooling off period.
What solution or remedy are you looking for?
Ideally I'd like a refund for either the full amount so I can purchase it again cheaper or a refund for the difference.
Obviously going by the above I should be find but I'd like to know what other people think I'll be up against as I'm certain the store are over looking the credit agreement even though I confirmed on the phone the date I made the purchase and the fact that an agreement was set up.
Thanks for any info.

So have you actually been back into the store as they advised you to do?
Things go up and down in price all the time so there is no automatic right to get it at a cheaper price after you have purchased it, just as H Samuel wouldn't have asked you for more money if the price went up.
What does the credit agreement say about returning items under their 30 day return period?0 -
depends on the terms of the agreement.
If the terms are favourable...
The store could do one of four things....
1) nothing.
2) refund the difference.
3) refund the entire purchase as a store credit and allow you to repurchase up to the entire value.
4) refund full purchase, with a finance agreement in place, whilst it doesn't directly affect the store I doubt they will offer a full refund.0 -

No I haven't been back into the store yet as that call was made this afternoon and I can't get into town until Saturday. I fully appreciate that prices go up and down but if a store offer a 30 day cooling off period why wouldn't I try and take advantage of it? As in my OP I'm not at home so unable to check the agreement at this time. Going by their website under the credit section it says see their returns section which states 30 days but I'm sure credit agreements are only 14 which is why ideally I'd like to get an understanding of where I stand if the shop is saying okay but the agreement says otherwise.depends on the terms of the agreement.

Thanks for the reply, guess I'll have to wait until I get home on Friday to check the paperwork.0
