Insurance Claim & Renewal Query

I recently made a claim for damage & personal injury on my current TPFT insurance - The driver was at fault and has admitted liability to myself, the attending police officers and my insurance company by telephone.
So far so good, the cars been taken away and the damage repaired and I've provided the necessary forms and details required for personal injury - My insurance advisor advised the claim will now be completely dealt with by their own legal team and I need no further input.
However my policy is due for renewal in October and I had hoped to scout around for a better deal and possibly change companies.
My query is, Will this affect the current claim? Will they continue the work if I'm no longer a customer? Would it make more sense to just auto-renew till it's done and dusted? Can't find anything to help online
Sorry for the long story but thought I'd get the best reply with the full story, Thanks in advance peeps!

As you are only TPFT I suspect your insurer didn't do anything other than selling your details onto a firm that does credit hire & PI claims.
As such changing insurer at renewal won't be a problem. Obviously you'll need to declare the accident to any insurer you approach and you will probably get an inflated premium if your claim is still open.0 -
Perhaps op purchased the legal cover added extra0
