Infected

The computer always opens in safe mode by default. It's been going on for some days now. And then they took the CPU to the repair guy and he is intending to format everything. I have a lot of data in it. Is formatting the only way??? And why is it only opening in safe mode?

Who is they? Why didn't 'they' ask before they took the Tower to the 'repair guy'?

You could back your data up yourself and run a Factory Restore if necessary.

If the "Infected" in the subject means you have some sort of malware then I'd be careful how you back it up, in case you infect your backup drive. Perhaps use a new USB stick if there's a cheapish one with enough space for your files.

Ask the repait guy if he can take an image of the hard drive before he reformats it. The image can then be easily restored onto a virtual environment safely and you will be able to recover your data and scan it for viruses/malware/trojans etc safely without affecting your new install. If he is worth his salt he should be well aware of how to use virtualization.

IF they are professional, they'd back up your data first. Don't rely on it.

you could probably recover your data and fix it yourself for nothing.
