First Utility...Cashback Scheme
Options
I changed to FU last year and in a phone call from one of their reps it was mentioned about a Cashback scheme, a kind of "loyalty bonus", up to the sum of £300. FU now deny there was any such deal on the table and have told the Ombudsman this. Anyone else had this kind of call from them about March/April 2012?

First Utility was my previous supplier
Their cashback scheme amounted to 10% of your total spend refunded annually I believe.0 -
Might not have been 10% actually ....
Dodgy copy off one of my e bills
Electricity Dual Fuel Discount
It's almost time for us to pay your electricity dual fuel discount! Your discount will be based on your
energy usage throughout the year and how it aligns with your fixed direct debit plan. Once we've
calculated your amount we will send you a cheque by post in the next calendar month. We look forward to continuing to supply your energy!0 -
Cheers Skull, I also remember something on the bottom of the bills, saying that there was some cashback that would be sent in x amount of days after each monthly bill.0

Well FU still denying the scheme existed, as I work in a call centre I am quite sure I know what was stated, FU are not obliged to record calls, so a word of warning, ask for offer in writing and record call if possible. They also made up stories in their reply to the Ombudsman, which he rejected, so some sanity prevailed.
Absolute joke of a company.0 -
Well accepted Ombudsman resolution and asked 3 further questions:-
1. Can I now switch companies, when repayment plan set up?
2. Does this show on my Credit File?
3. Under code of practice, they can only back bill 12 months?
Ombudsman only confirms question 1. that FU may block migration.
They all seem to have the same level of service, CRAP.0
