Why won't the changes to my webpages show?

I'm new to websites and html coding so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Everything has been fine until now. I've done a minor change to three of my pages and it won't show. It will only show when I press Ctrl+F5. Once I move from the page and return later, it's back to the original, no changes whatsoever.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I don't understand what's gone wrong.
Cheers!

What program are you using to (try to) update the web page?0

Assuming you see the change with a forced refresh then it must have updated on the server. The only way you can be seeing the old version is because it is cached somewhere - either by your browser or (less likely) by your ISP if you've been accessing the page a lot. Your refresh should have updated the cache though so why it didn't is a bit of a mystery.
As an experiment try adding a random query string which should cause any cache to be ignored e.g. - https://www.mywebsite/mypage.htm?xyz=123 (the query string being the ?xyz=123 bit)0 -
ok, I've left it for a few hours and now all changes are showing. I've tested it in different browsers and it's all as it should be. I am confused.com but happy the changes are there now.
I always use notepad and Filezilla for my website.
I had been accessing the page a lot but that was testing it to see if the changes had taken. Maybe 2 or 3 views before I did any updates.
Cheers for your help guys! :beer:0 -
Probably a cache problem, try shift+F5 next time to force refresh a page.
Edit - sorry posted in haste you have used forced refresh, if it is still intermittent there could well be caching servers between you and your server, they sometimes level out server loads for slow moving websites/whatever. That would cause semi-random behaviour.0 -

I'm about your standard.
Instead of Notepad, check out Notepad++
Move along, nothing to see.0
