I've got a small firepit that I burn personal documents in. When it's all burnt can I add it to the garden? It's a mix of sand, paper and wood.
Would it harm anything?

If you have a compost bin, sprinkle it on top.The person who has not made a mistake, has made nothing0

I don't have a compost bin. I daren't start one as next door's compost bin was a haven for rats :-/0

In that case, either sprinkle it very lightly on the soil, or make a small trench in bare soil (edge of a hoe size) and sprinkle it in and cover.
Wood ash is great for onions but wood ash when wetted becomes caustic for a while so best not put it on live plants. The person who has not made a mistake, has made nothing0 -
