Gas hob ignitor constantly clicking

Hi,
A friend has a fairly old Neff gas hob, which is constantly firing the ignitor. It's the type that has an ignitor on every knob. It has been doing this for a few weeks now. I've tried WD40 etc, but no luck so far.
Does it sound like it needs a new ignition unit?
Thanks.

There was a similar thread on here recently.
Spraying WD40 may not help as the constant clicking is caused by a short in one of the ignitor switches.
This can be caused by liquid ingress into the knob. You will need to dismantle each knob and check.
Be careful as the ignitor delivers a high voltage and you could get a shock if you touch any electrodes. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0
