Holiday money in the uk

I have a sister coming for a short study in the UK for 3 months. What is the best means of keeping her money without a bank account in the UK. ideally on a card so she uses during her stay here.

You say ',.. .without a bank account in the UK', but does she have a bank account elsewhere ? And if so does it come with a debit card ?

If so I'd suggest the first step thing would be to find out from her bank before she arrives if she will be able to use the card for purchases and ATM withdrawals. But make sure she has a contingency plan in case the card is lost/stolen/stopped for any reason.
  • yes she has a bank account in US and has a debit card for it. the fall back plan is to continue using that but would like to have something here in the UK
