I'm on a tour staying B&B so need only need money for evening meals, drinks etc. Have no idea of cost of meals and how much to take and where / how to get best currency deal.

Generally get better exchange rates in Jordan than here so probably just take a small amount of local currency if any

You can buy Jordanian Dinars before you go - that will be the easiest way to do it. You'll probably get better rates in Jordan, particularly in Amman, but then you have the hassle of finding one of the money exchange shops. If you don't want to carry too much cash, there are plenty of ATM's in the bigger towns. If you are on an organised tour I would expect the guide will sort you out.

Eating out in Jordan can be expensive in the tourist hotels/resorts. If you are expecting to eat in those sort of establishments, expect prices to be similar to the UK.

Also if you drink alcohol expect to pay more than you would in the UK. It's readily available, but even the locally brewed Amstel is normally quite dear.
