Hello,
Could anyone please recommend some free software that I can download in order to design an events poster.
I would prefer if it is compatible with PDF formats, and links to download sites would be handy.

I was going to post a reply to this yesterday and mention that I tend to use a simple combination of MS Office and the free Paint.NET program for absolutely all sorts.
MS office is not free but as already suggested, Libre office or even Open office are free downloads and can handle text and graphics.

Who is printing your posters and how big will they be?
Do you have existing graphics or photos that will be used on the poster or are you looking to create something.
Is there a 'logo'?
Also is the text going to be just fancy text?0
