Triple room cheaper per person than twin?

I have just booked a twin room (suite actually) at a hotel for the 3 night Christmas package (includes all meals), at a cost of £335 per person.
I then asked if it could be made into a triple room if a friend decided to join us. The answer was yes, but no change in price was mentioned.
Would you expect to pay less per person or because it is a special Christmas package would it remain at £335?
The obvious answer is to ask the hotel, but as I have not booked a triple room before and this includes all meals, I wondered if this would make a difference?

I wouldn't necessarily expect any difference in the room price but as meals are included I would expect the price to rise to reflect this.0

Many hotels charge per person (especially for a package deal). So I wouldn't expect much of a discount for a triple room.
If you had booked by the room originally, then yes, you would probably have saved a bit.0 -
I would expect a rise in the price of the room because there is more labour for staff involved.
Another bed to make, more cleaning, more laundry, etc. etc.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
The OP is paying per person, not per room.0

I never had a room price, only a per person price for the package.
At £335 per person that means that the total cost of the Christmas package for 2 people is £670, sharing a suite.
With an extra person sharing the suite, would you expect the total cost to rise to £1005?0 -
Yes - but there's no harm in asking for a discount. This is MSE, after all.0

Cornucopia - as a veteran MSE I have already negotiated a 10% discount for the original booking as this will be our 3rd Christmas visit. I always believe in asking!
That's why I am wondering if I can get it even cheaper for the 3 of us.0 -
Nothing to stop you from asking, let us know how you get on.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Just to update - I asked and the price remains the same, £335 per person for the 3 night Christmas package, whether there are 2 or 3 of us sharing the suite. It's still good value, so I'm happy.0
