Hi guys
So I have been looking at my Electricity usage recently and between 26/02/13 - 28/08/13 I have used 280KWh more during the day (596kwh to 876 kwh) and 23Kwh more during the night (93 to 116) than the corresponding period last year.
The only real change I can think of is at the beginning of March I had Sky HD installed.
Would this being used in the evenings and being on Standby approx 11pm-5.30pm this account for a lot of the difference?
I have tried to look for consumption data online but no luck.

The Sky+HD boxes cost about 10p a day to run in normal circumstances.
You can always power the box down to a Red/Off state, by holding the power button on the remote down until the light on the front of the box goes red, but bear in mind this will not allow it to record/update overnight, plus it will probably take a while to get going again when you bring it back out of this state.
According to various sources, the HD box uses 36w in normal use and 19w in standby.0 -
The relatively new 'ECO' power setting if selected turns off the box for a few hours overnight if no recordings are scheduled and powers it up automatically later. In this state it consumes 0.5W.0

7 hours at 19 W (0.019 kW) is bang on 24 kWh.0
