    Afternoon all,

    well it is, just.:D

Ive been awake since 7. I got up soon after the men left for work.

Amazing how much more I can fit in my day when I get up at a reasonable time.:o

Thought i'd tell you of a conversation ive just had with my Post Man. I noticed he hadn't delivered my post for a week or two so when he knocked the door to get a signature for something that had been sent recorded delivery I noticed his hand bandaged up. I didn't ask what he'd done but he proceeded to tell me.

Apparently he was posting a letter a couple of weeks ago but the letter box had been booby trapped.. The couple who were living there were having 'marital issues' apparently. She kept going out and coming back hammered so he did something to the lock so she couldn't get the key in the door and booby trapped the letterbox so that when she yelled to get let in she'd get more than she bargained for. Well I don't know what happened but when Postie went to deliver the post next morning it chopped the top off his finger off. Poor sod complained at work and got told off for sticking his hand into the letterbox. As he explained some letterboxes have two flaps (one inside and one outside) and a light letter isn't usually enough to open the inner flap hence him sticking his hand in.

Then he went on to tell me he got bitten last month on the bum.

I think my Postie is great but I do think he's got the wrong job though!:)

    Have a good day all,

    Afternoon All,

TTFTM - hope all has gone well with DD at hospital today.
Julie - good luck with the interview, sounds like a rewarding job.

OH is at MOT Centre, don't MOT at garages over here it is at very strict government run computerised centres. She is stressed out as she couldn't find the car "log book" but she was advised just to turn up anyway and they will probably test car without it. I fully expect car to pass, it is 4 year old but under 7000 miles on clock.

Been eating quite a lot recently so I think a thick soup with wheaten bread, followed by some fruit, will do for this evening's meal.

*Update car failed on headlight alignment. Alignment fixed by garage for £15 and retest booked for Saturday for £18.50 - what a money making racket we have to put up with!

Have a good day everyone

    Hi all

Had a lovely walk along the coast with a friend and her dog, coffee and scones too. Glorious weather here in coastal Kent, you can feel the season beginning to change can't you?

Just making shepherds pies and streeeeetching the meat out to make three, one for tea and two for freezer.

Just proving Italian flat brad, not made before, did anyone watch bake off last night, loved the different sort of breads shown, not sure about the octopus ....

Hugs to those who need them. X

  • Thanks so much everyone for well wishes for DD. We are home and she is asleep on the sofa, following a serious dose of multiple pain killers. Procedure was more complex than we realised but they hope they have managed to keep her nail bed and that she will regain some sensation in the newly constructed end of her finger. Will be more news when she attends follow up clinic next week so keep your fingers crossed.

Judi - she may have met your postie having the same treatment :D

Julie - hope the interview went well :)
