talktalk cancellation nightmare!

I phoned in April to cancel my contract with talktalk as I was moving into a new house share which already had internet provided. I was told to call back after may 14th and I could cancel. I called on the 15th to cancel and had to call back a few times as I kept being disconnected. I repeatedly said that I needed the service disconnecting due to moving and all I kept getting back was someone trying to sell me another offer. I finally thought the connection had been cancelled and thought nothing of it until I was billed for another month. Since then I have made numerous phone calls and a couple of emails to get the problem fixed. Yet nobody seems to be able to help me. Last month I got through to a man who said he could cancel the contract but Id have to pay the remaining balance. I was reluctant but agreed just to get rid of the problem to have the bill end this month. However Ihave now been billed again so the contract has not stopped. I spent two hours on the phone today with someone who also could not help me. I was told the contract couldnt be cancelled until I pay. The service is already restricted so I am being charged for something that im not getting and a service I thought was already cancelled. Ive been told that I will be billed each month I dont pay and according to their notes I have never said I wanted to fully cancel, only enquired. I asked if I could see these records they have of what im supposed to have saod and they said no. I argued that they should allow me to see these as they are using it as evidence against me, so they said I could have acopy but would be charged an administration fee! Ive phoned so many times now it is getting beyond a joke. This issue should have been resolved back in may. I was a good customer and paid all my bills on time and would have recommend the service before this. But customer service is appalling. Nobody seems to listen or understand what your saying. And when they do understand they contradict what they say and dont help anyway. After all the phone calls nothing is resolved yet.
Has anyone had a similar experience and how can I get rid of this problem and company? !
