I purchased a new tent in June.Used it first time in July and had some minor faults (BROKE ZIP AND POLE ELASTIC SNAPPING.)with tent.Emailed firm and they agreed to take back tent for repair at the end of our hol in AUGUST.I was happy with this.We have just returned from aweek away and the tent has lots of probS.More elastic broke, poles are splitting, rain came through eyebrow of tent and also the extension let rain in (only rained for 2hrs).There are a number of stiching issues where on close inspection have been patched up with tent glue.I have taken pictures. One hole lets rain through. don't think the tent will last more than two summers .We have been camping for over 20yrs so we know our tents. The tent is great for our family. What are my rights,i want a new tent or refund..The tent is a Kampa sandown 8 and canopy. Im getting in touch with the company tomorrow as we only got back today.Thanks.

This is still within the manufacturers warranty; SOGA states an item must be fit for purpose, free from minor defects and be of satisfactory quality; which it clearly isn't.
I think it is highly unlikely that they could claim wear and tear within such a short space of time; if this went legal they would struggle with the durability of the product.
My advice would be to report the issues to the retailer; request a replacement; I think it would be unlikely for them to grant a refund as after a reasonable amount of time it would be deemed that you have accepted the goods and therefore the retailer can offer a repair or replacement.
I am sure if you play on the fact that there were previous faults, many retailers would replace and obtain credit from their suppliers.

Have had reply from supplier(THEY ARE A CAMPING SHOP) and they have said they have got to send tent back to manufacture (kampa) to see if it can be repaired or a new tent provided. As my tent is out of the 28 day saleThis could take up to 4 weeks. Is this my only choice.0

Once the goods are 'accepted' then the retailer is allowed to pick the cheapest option from repair, replace or refund (possibly partial). They are allowed to repair it if thats the cheapest option, but they can't cause you significant inconvenience.0
