Why not start at a much lower price and work up to your £150k?
We saved ourselves £35k on our second house and the same again on our current house. You may get lucky but going in at a high price with your first offer means you'll be dragged up or you won't get it.
If it's on at £160k I'd start at £130k and look to end up half-way between the two.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

When we set out we agreed £150k as this was comfortable for us. the monthly repayments would be £430pm with a joint income of £2k-£2.3k pm.
Going to £160k would be repayments of £475pm, so we could still do this, but obviously we'd prefer to pay less, as everybody would.
Do you have a substantial deposit as otherwise I think you need to check your calculations because £430pm seems way too low0 -
Because £152k has already been rejected as i said earlier. Plus houses in the area in a poorer condition are going for no less than £140k-£145k with many around the £150k-£155k marker. This one is one of the better condition ones.somethingcorporate wrote: »Why not start at a much lower price and work up to your £150k?

Yes, we do. We've between 30%-40%.TrickyDicky101 wrote: »Do you have a substantial deposit as otherwise I think you need to check your calculations because £430pm seems way too low0 -

Sorry, didn't read the thread carefully enough.
