If I were to delete all the data on my old Excel 2003 disc, would it be possible to sell, without the risk of the buyer being able to recover the data?
Thank you for advice.

What sort of disc are you wanting to sell? A commercial MS disc that you have?
That won't have any of your documents on it.0 -
Yes, it's a Microsoft disc I have which hasn't been used in a while.0

Well it wont have any of your stuff on it.0

The telly or Excel?

The program is all that is on the disk. When you installed it, it copied to your PC. Your spreadsheet data is all held in your Documents folder, or wherever you saved it to.
If you want to sell it then you'll have to remove the program from your PC and supply the buyer with the licence key (assuming that it's a standard retail licence that can be transferred).
But given that Libre Office or Open Office do the same job as Excel for free, it's hardly going to be worth it for a 10 year old version. No free lunch, and no free laptop
