I have just moved in with my partner and need to make a joint claim for tax credits .But he is self employed so I am not sure if the tax credits will want his tax return forms sent to them as well or if they need the figures before deductions or after tax ie his net profits its all very confusing.:o Does anybody know what tax credits will ask for.

You will need his previous year taxable income. This is the figure from his self assessment form that he is taxed on. It is after expenses are deducted.
