i have a Epson stylus sx400 and it is no use for printing on card, i know it does heavy weight paper, so im on the look out for a new printer, would you go for a laser or an inkjet

card stock, metallic paper, vellum paper its for my mum for her card making, and photos for me as im getting a new cam soon0

Are you using card stock more than 300 gsm and how much do you want to spend?
Photos will likely be better from an inkjet0 -
Yeah will all depend on what gsm of card you want to use, most new entry level printers won't go over 180gsm. Plus is it smooth or textured card.
Printer wise, Canon are pretty good, lot of there's will go to 300gsm (at least if you use there cardstock)Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

I don't think you can put specialist stock like that through a laser printer because of the heat required to fuse the toner.No free lunch, and no free laptop
