It might be a job I smile at someone else or from the sound of it. I have painted bitumen, as a teen!, and I don't think I'm strong enough now to cope with that kind of drag over a large area :(. I do think it needs the thickness of liquid not spray for the protection job it does at the base of the doors.
No, it's not that bad, I know what you mean.
I was thinking the kind of bitumen/tar paint that has a consistency of cream rather than treacle:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
You are perfectly correct about the coating thickness of spraying rather than brushing, which is why I didn't mention it again when you explained the job.
But something has just come to mind as I type.
Hammerite do some excellent metal primers. They are similar in use to any other primer, ie, easy.
Why not brush paint the primer and then spray the top/decorative coat?
Have to say I haven't tried it, but it could be the most cost effective way to get the desired end result.
Bottom line, still buy a small "tester" canI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Thanks cyclonebri1
That might be a really good idea.
I've been thinking about the size of the doors and my stamina (I am a weakling these days) and have been thinking though in size these aren't a big job compared to many here, and something I thought I could do, it might be a man job.
. So I am going to forward this thread to the boss and have a chat with him about what he thinks we should do.
Goodness help the neighbours then, They don't realise his taste is gaudier than mine...:). I swear he'd be giving the livestock blue rinses given half a chance.....0
