junk mail filters & "Adriana"

My Hotmail junk filter is set to exclusive but I also periodically add junk mail addresses to my blocked senders list. However I keep getting one email from "Adriana" and its address keeps changing so I can't keep blocking it. Also, even though its ending up in my junk mail folder it doesn't even have my email address on it. Its usually addressed to something like "just1@hotmail" and other connotations af this. How to I stop this email from getting through because quite frankly its really irritating me now.

If it's going straight to your spam folder, does it matter? Just set that to empty automatically and you'll never even see it.

Basic scum of the earth types.

Hotmail is also a free service (for most) so don't expect 100% success in capturing the spam, although they tend to do a good job.

I don't really want to automatically empty the junk folder because I do get some mail in it that are from addresses that are not on my contact list.

I know its going into my junk mail but its annoying me that its even getting into there when the emails don't even have my email address on it. I've just sent a report off to Outlook, although I'm not expecting much.

Doesn't this tell you, that the "blocked senders list" is a useless feature? Almost all junk emails use a different email address for the same recipient for that reason.

More sophisticated junk filters analyze the content of an email and give it a score depending on various criteria. If this email reaches a certain score, the email is classified as junk.

I don't use Hotmail, but can't you set a rule like "move to junk if sender contains 'Adriana'". Of course you will get a false positive if a "real" Adriana emails you.

You hit the nail on the head trona tour. There did used to be that feature on Hotmail but since it changed to Outlook I can't find it. Wish I could, the I could stop the Big Willy mails too.

Yes I get them. Sweep each time but a losing battle, they do go straight to Junk.

Oh and if this is really from a woman called Adriana, my !!!! plays a banjo:D

The really weird one is a list I did sign for the newsletter(Rouge Bunny make up brand), tried to unsubscribe and two months later still get them. I have added to sweep and yet they come. Makes me think they are not who they say they are.
