Just thought I would let you know I am having a bad experience with loans.co.uk and trying to reclaim my ppi. I originally sent off my claim application in May 2012 they upheld my claim December 2012 and seem to keep coming up with excuses as to why they can't tell me how much I am going to get and when.
Surely they should have sorted this out now, if not could someone tell me if there are time limits for paying out ppi or what step I should take now.
Thank you0 -
Hi
I had to wait a while for our settlement figure and after emailing they told me it was because they were waiting for a response from the PPI policy providers and lender. I ended up emailing the Chief Executive of Bank of America and I don't know whether it was a coincidence but the settlement letter arrived a couple of days later. Again when I was waiting for the cheque to arrive they did give me some excuses as to why it was taking so long so I again emailed yhe chief executive and I received a response the followng day from LCUK apologising and advising they had sent our cheque that day by DHL we received it the following day.
Hope you get it sorted0 -
Sarros,
Thank you for that my email is now on the way hopefully I may see a result.
I have checked and my claim was upheld on 17th January 2013 no other communication other than delaying tactics as far as I can see.0 -

I emailed on a Thursday and rang them on the following Tuesday, this was when they told me the settlement figure had been done and posted on the Friday (day after I sent the email). They emailed me a copy of the letter that afternoon.
Hope you hear some good news soon. You've been very patient.0 -
i am having all sorts of problems reclaiming from loans.co.uk - im acting on behalf of my parent who took a loan out in 2004..ppi ran for 5 years (half of the total loan duration)...we are trying to reclaim on the basis that my father had existing health issues when it was sold to them and that we were advised that it was necessary
FOS were contacted when LCUK dismissed the complaint..that was in march of last year and still nothing..all we have been told is that there are questions over fos jurisdiction
please can someone advise0 -

Regulation of insurance started in January 2005. Sales made prior to that date by firms who were not a member of an early recognised body can be rejected as pre-regulation and the FOS cannot rule as they are pre-regulation.
There are a small number of cases where the insurer may carry the liability for the sale. This is an avenue the FOS usually try or get you to try. Although it ends in failure in most cases but there will be times it doesnt.
You just need to carry on waiting and dont be hopeful. You may still succeed but if it is pre-regulation, then the odds are against you.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Only 34% of FOS decisions on Loans.co.uk complaints went in favour of the complainant in the first half of this year - so don't hold your breath.0

Any ideas on where I will get a template of letter to send for claiming back single PPI? Also do I just write to the broker of the insurance provider as well?0
