First 3 complaints per firm are free, thereafter currently £450 per complaint regardless of whether the complaint is upheld or not

    hiya Orford

is that the initial 3 compliants from a consumer ie me personally or as the first 3 complaints received by that creditor ?

i have 3 seperate claims from the same creditor,,,, would that mean they wont get charged and my fourth one will?

or if they have already had 3 complaints from others, they will be charged 450.00 for each of my claims??

only asking because it may just shift the creditor a bit in addressing my issue, since ive a low , medium and less than 5000 type amounts on my 3

interesting thought, would appreciate your comments ta muchly maz

Yes, in the last year for which figures are available, the FOS had something like 123,000 complaints of which around 38,000 were from just 4 companies (presumably the 4 banks) and represents £17m in fees alone

  • hi all

just to let you know that halifax as offered my a settlement as a gesture of goodwill.

i had two halifax credit cards bu i did not relase they was link together and halifax did not inform me of this. so with the interest was asking for approx £94.00 and the other one was round £340.00 a total nearly to £400.00.

the sent me a letter offering £167.00 i accepted think it was for the £94.00 but i check as well and found out that they have linked the cards together so i told them i reclined my acceptd offer of the £167 .00 and the passed it to another department and last week the offered me £335.00 which is an £81.00 difference. so i have final accpeted this. my tip would be if you caliming two cardeit cards it may be worth put a sentence in asking if these tow cards are linked especally if you been moving credit cards about to get the 0% transfered or lower apr rate and thanks again martin

    Hi,
I'm a little confused! I put in a complaint with FOS about credit card charges with GE Capital running from May 2003 to April 2006. I followed the process to the letter, writing to GE Capital first and then referring the complaint to FOS later when GE refused to pay.

FOS have just got back to me saying my complaint is not successful as they don't deal with charges prior to April 2007 and referring me to the Finance and Leasing Association.

I've had two lots of credit card charges refunded in the past couple of months through using the FOS, one with Egg and one with MBNA, both were for charges incurred prior to April 2007. Has something changed to do with FOS remit here?

Any help would be great, I've tried talking to FOS directly but can't get through.

    Thanks

Some companies did not come under the remit of the FOS until 6th April 2007

According to this video ^^^ he's still shredding! Why does he want to come back to the UK? I would swim in my millions away in France.

    Hi,
I am at a bit of a crossroads and would appreciate a little advice from you experts out there, I recently put in a claim for charges made to my MINT credit card for £12 charges following the OFT guidelines, claiming I still consider these to be penalty charges etc.

I was offered the difference of £8.64 for my one and only charge prioir to the publication of these charges, I then sent a letter declining their offer and asking for a full refund or I will take court action. Mint have still yet to respond after 23 days having sent the letter recorded delivery I know they have recieved it?!
Should I respond by sending a further warning letter or should I take my complaint directly to the FOS?

I am concerned that the FOS may not rule in my favour as I am disputng £12 charges?.... help would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks
