Hello!
I am a newbie so if I do something wrong or have posted in the wrong place please forgive me!!
Anyway - I have received a bank statement today and on the 6th "ACTION FOR EMP." has credited my account with £61.25. I have no idea who or what this is.
Has anyone heard of them?
Is there a way if I contact my bank that they can be traced?
Thanks in advance.

Google says:
'Action for EMP'
Trading as The UK College, Bessemer Road SHEFFIELD S9 3XN0 -
It could be an error in that they meant the money to go to someone's account but they messed up the account number/sort code. Best not spend it just yet!
As someone says above, best contact your bank and ask them to record the fact that you've queried it.

I was credited with nearly £22,000 from Leeds University, I didnt know what to do, after reading various banking error posts, my bank had removed the money and sent me a letter of apology.
If I'd informed the bank, they may have given me £50 for informing them.
What to realise is, the larger the sum, the easier it is to trace, a nice round £10 transaction will occur millions of times a day, mine was something obscure like £21,875.92. The number of transactions that day, at that exact figure would be less than ten, Id imagine.0 -
Thanks for all your replies, I tried phoning my bank several times yesterday but was on hold for so long I gave up. Going to go in there this afternoon and speak to someone.
Thanks again!0
