Waterproof paint?

I live in a rented house, and my landlord won't pay for a shower to be put in.
There is only one row of tiles around the bath.
I'm trying to find a cheap way of getting some sort of shower. My idea is to get this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000TAN37S/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I had a quote for some extra tiles and it was £150 which is too much to pay if not my house.
I was wondering if it's possible to get waterproof paint? and just use this in the shower/bath area?
I have no idea about DIY.. painting I can manage though.

I suggest a wrap around shower curtain, far better than trying to bodge your walls to make them 'waterproof' - it won't work.

You can get paint for bathrooms which works really well. It's a little more expensive than regular paint. A shower curtain will help but your walls will still become damp after every shower.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0

If you're not allowed to add fixings, is your bathroom the right shape to use extending poles?

If so you could have one either side of your bath and hang curtains whatever way is best, even across the short end of the bath where the taps are.
We had to do that when we were trying to protect walls at one point.
Wasn't the prettiest solution but was cheap and worked well and gave more room inside the curtain than the circular type of rail did.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Well you've had two top ideas forwards to you now,so mix and match between them and you should be ok - if you don't want anything fixed to your wal thoughl I doubt you can use that shower riser rail, as it looks like it's fixed with screws.
Best of luck

DO NOT use paint in this circumstance........ you are just asking for trouble. I would put my life on it, it will leak somewhere along the tiles or bath and then your £150 for some tiling will seem cheap. I would suggest using the method proposed by "Aliasojo". if you are looking for a cheap option.
Seriously though, do not assume this Kitchen and Bathroom paint is "waterproof" for use in the way in which you are proposing.......0 -
Thanks. I think I will do both. Use bathroom paint, and also buy a circular curtain rail.
I do have a ventilation fan and window I can open which should help.

If you use a shower curtain and have a metal bath, spend a few quid on little strong magnets to sew into the bottom of the curtain (assuming you go for a reasonable quality curtain, not a 99p one). When you run a hot shower, heat rises, lower pressure inside the shower than outside, so the curtain billows inwards! I absolutely freak out with claustrophobia when a shower curtain clings to me whilst I'm trying to get clean, magnets can save you from this fate worse than death!0
