Missing an ESA payment

Hi All,

I am lead to believe that given my normal payment day of Monday, I should have received an ESA payment on Friday due to the bank holiday. However, this has not happened.

Is this something I should be getting stressed about? Or should I just wait until tomorrow?

Thanks

Do you have to provide sicknotes?

If you have to provide sicknotes when does your current sicknote expire?

If you recently renewed your sicknote when did it expire and when did you post the new one?

No, I've not required sicknotes in a long time. I'll try and not get stressed till I check again tomorrow.

    Thanks

Check tomorrow, but you should be aware of the following:

What group you are in and the type of ESA....ESA C WRAG lasts 1 year then stops..
When are you due to be re-assessed? If you don't know you should ask, so you know when to expect an ESA50. Non return of an ESA50 will close your claim.
Have you had an ESA50 sent to you recently? Failure to attend an assessment will close your claim.
Have you changed address recently? Returned mail will suspend your claim.

I wouldn't worry about it - the DWP are quite lax in making payments on the due date.

I haven't had my DLA Mobility component paid to me yet despite sending the Motability car back on the 22nd July 2013 and receiving a letter from Motability Operations telling me that from the 24th July 2013 I would start to get it paid to me. 4 weeks and counting - and don't bother to contact them either, past experience has taught me that you will get paid when it happens despite what they may tell you. In my case I am leaving it for 3 months, then ring them up and listen to the excuses that they will come out with.
  • I moved into supported accommodation nearly 2 months ago, but the DWP knows my new address. The only correspondence from them has been a brief letter to confirm the amounts of DLA I get, nothing re: ESA.

Did you or your appointee specifically phone ESA and report a change of address? It's no good just calling DLA or writing a letter or walking into and telling the jobcentre.... if you didn't do this (phone ESA) and they have now found out the change of address your claim will be on suspension waiting for you to call them to do the change of address.

In my case it was under suspension for failing to supply information (the missing letter) which was then terminated.

Claims under suspension will lead to termination.

I'm almost sure my appointee made all the relevant reports to the DWP. I'll need to speak to them to make sure.

I will post back tomorrow when I know for sure.

in the past i have never had any problems whatsoever with DWP payments. my WTC, CTC, CB & DLA has ALWAYS been paid ontime.

when claiming ESA however...it is always paid eventually, but i no longer rely on it :o
