Hi,
My youngest child is 5 today and so my entitlement to income support stops. I received a payment on 16th August and am/was paid fortnightly. Does anyone know if i will receive any kind of payment this coming Friday with child only turning 5 today or will i have received all payments now?
Also, how does the transition on to JSA work? Is it automatic or do I need to phone tomorrow to make a claim?
Thanks in advance.

I got a letter the month before my youngest turned 5, and I had to phone and make a new claim. Because it was all done on the lead-up to his birthday, the transition was seamless, with no halt to payments, other than the fact the day for receiving payments changed, as you sign-on on your old IS payment day, then receive your payments 3 working days later.
If I were you, I'd phone them first thing tomorrow morning.0 -
Thank you, i'll call in the morning.0

08000 556688 new claim to JSA over the phone backdated to today citing the bank holiday as the reason,,,
or claim JSA online now from today and submit the form online before midnight tonight.
This assumes you don't get carers allowance,0 -
I don't get carers allowance although my son has just been referred to a paediatrician for assessment of adhd and aspergers. So this may change depending on diagnosis.0

You will get two weeks of Income Support this Friday, these will be your last payments.
Your Payday is Friday, your Childs Birthday Monday, you get paid the full week that includes the childs birthday, your I.S will end Friday so you will make your JSA claim from Saturday, you should have been told this by the Job centre, but if not apply as said0
