CC limit

I want to get a CC on a 0% APR for a fixed period, just wondering about credit limits though.
I have a CC right now with a 2k limit, never bothered to increase it as I had no need.
Wondering what limit I could expect. I have a 19k salary, no bad history. Years of CC usage, always paid. I don't apply often. Basically a decent Credit history.
I need at least a 15-20k limit.. I have no idea what limits other people get as limits so asking.

You're not going to get a £15-20k limit with a salary of £19k. End of story.0

there are certain lenders which seem to give higher limits than others, based on my own observations and what people say on here. Getting a 15-20K limit on 19K seems improbable, but not impossible, given your history and, I am assuming, lack of debt.
I would give MBNA and Barclaycard a shot, they offer a range of products, generous limits (from what I have seen) and their customer service is UK based and from my experience quite good. They also score quite easily from what I understand, again based on my own experiences (myself and those I know) and chatter from here.
I wouldn't reccommend going with Capital One - they offer some very attractive products but the customer service is so utterly incompetent it beggars belief, as far as I know it's all still done abroad too. Their best products you wouldn't be in for a shot on anyway, as even the Aspire card requires £20K income to start off with.Oh, you wee bazza!0 -
£15-20k?! On a salary on £19k?! That's a sure fire way to get yourself into debt for the next 100 years. I doubt you would get anywhere near that anyway! Why the heck do you "need at least" that much? I would say nearer £5k would be your top line but it's based on many things, not just salary. Payment history, amount you pay each month, how long you've had your accounts, etc etc etc0

I'd expect maximum would be about 50% of your income, minus what you have now. You might be able to get it upto 75% or so once you've had the card for a few years.
So I'd expect about 7.5K top limit, although some might only give you half that - 3 - 4K.0 -
I appreciate the concern and advice to not get into debt, and I think you most likely do stop a lot of people making mistakes. In this case there's no need for a concern

Have you considered a personal loan?
Even then, it's un likely your get more than £10K.
I'm on a £33k salary, no missed payments, no ivrs/ccj's, and my highest limit is £8k with BarclayCard (although I can't guarantee - I was only tolled this morning), with the rest in the £1-3k region.Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0 -

Perfect, thanks. I'm considering the personal loan too, but still need more
Going to be a funny process trying to get these (don't worry, I won't apply like a mad man and raise flags everywhere). 0 -
If you want to withdraw cash you may be facing another problem. Many cards will not let you have more than 50% or so of your credit limit as a cash advance. Your best bet is likely to be an MBNA product which may let you transfer up to about 95% to a current account.Just need access to cash soon. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??
