Having a gif avatar

Not sure if this is the right section to be asking this in, so sorry if it isn't...

I am wanting to change my avatar to an animated gif (as I have seen another user have) and have uploaded it but it still comes up as a normal image?

Any ideas?

sorry i'm not the right person to respond to techi related posts but i'm posting with the hope that someone would correct me as well

i think we're allowed x number pixels and your image, animated or otherwise, should not be above x

so if you would want an animated image, my guess is that you would've to choose the pixel that is lesser than x, for eg, if we're allowed 100 pixels then you'd have to choose an animated image that is 75 pixels so that the animation feature would work

Also it has to be less than 14.9 KB which rules out most gifs unless they are very basic

Gah! It still wont move, it says its 3.96 kb and it is 95 pixels wide?

you could perhaps ask iwanttosave, who always helps everyone with re-designing their avis, she is particulary good with graphics
