what do you mean - 'prefer not to risk it'?

I rarely get questions as I like to think all the details are available in my auctions. However I don't like to be away for the last 5 days of an auction in case there are questions that need answering urgently, or questions about combined shipping.

I may just list a few items though, finish them close on midnight Sunday as I'll be back monday and can post them out that day..but I'm not comfortable about having any one off items listed, and think I will stick with my usual listings.

  • I don't think that folks are spending as much time or money on Ebay.

There is so much trouble with Sellers and Buyers I tend to think it has been spoiled.

Yep. I think the market's got saturated as well - so many people are selling real crap on there. I was looking for a white vest the other day and there's just so flaming many of them and so many are rubbish that I gave up and bought one in M&S. I really think these cheap listings aren't helping ebay at all.

It's a real shame. I've got a load of stuff I want to sell for charity but the site's been so rubbish for so long that they're just sitting in my wardrobe. Poxant!

My sales are very poor - have given up for the time being. My stock costs so so so so little, so it's not a disaster. Just means it is sitting around though - taking up space!

Same here, my sales were such rubbish that I have not had anything listed for three weeks, the longest time ever.

Two things dont help, firstly the dollar rate means it is too expensive for the US to bid so even though I do sell internationally the postal rates for zone 3 are so expensive I dont think I am getting to quote these anymore. I think it puts people off. It looks like you are inventing the postage but I use the PO website and quote postage rates exactly. The rates for the UK and Europe are similar and then there is a huge jump, often double for postal rates for the US and Australia.

Secondly this gorgeous whether we have been having does not help. I hate having to come indoors to use the computer but if you use the laptop in the garden you cant see the screen :rotfl: I think it must be the same for others, thye would rather be outside than on ebay.

I must admit I have enjoyed my ebay break, no annoying questions from buyers about postal rates and descriptions already covered in the script, no parcels to wrap, no queueing at the post office. But all the stuff lying around the house waiting to sell gives me a guilt trick!

  • Some of the items I have wanted to buy have gone for such astronomical amounts - £40 + for a dress !!!!!

Anyway, it is raining now - they might get themselves inside!

It varies but reduced listing offers tend to come round every few weeks. eBay only give 3 or 4 days' notice though. If you have agreed to email communications from eBay, you will get email notifications of any pending offers. :)
