** Loch Ness visit in October ** Help with best location to stay please

Hi all, I'm finally visiting the Loch Ness for my birthday in October :j
I want to finalise booking today so that I can relax and wait for the day to arrive, however, I'm a bit stressed out working out the best location to stay? Ideally I'd like to have views overlooking the Loch, so really near to it, but realise this means it'll be pretty remote.
We'll be arriving from Inverness Airport, and the original accommodation I wanted to stay at is roughly an hour away and the owners stated it would be a nightmare to get there on transport, so it'd be best to hire a car and even then it's very tricky, but they'd help with directions on the day.
They suggested Dores as an alternative if it's too much hassle? Does anyone who has been there/lives near there know what to do for the best please?
Thanks in advance!!

might be worth posting in the Scotland board
When I went to Inverness the Tourist Information were very helpful/knowledgeable on local accommodation
worth a call?0 -
The East side of the Loch is far less spolit, sometimes completely swarmed by midges in the summer and isolated.
It depends what you want? Being near civilisation and attractions on the West side or the peace and solitude of the East and being able to get onto the Loch shore in more places.
The are plenty of hotels and accommodation that have views of the Loch on the West side. The man without a signature.0 -

Thank you all so much for replying! My main focus is staying Loch ness side and having a Loch boat tour.
I have booked an accommodation in Invermoriston, but many are telling me that's too far from the Airport and awkward to get to. Sounds like I may also need to hire a car.
I'll give the Tourist information a call tomorrow. I only have till tomorrow to cancel my accommodation or pay full price! Thanks again
